Here are my two cents based on my experience.
Chatting with people in vore chatrooms and eventually rping could be a way to interact and get involved.
Then, there are conventions where you can meet them, like Anthrocon, the biggest furry con where you could attend vore parties.
Contribution wise, you don't have to do anything, but if there is any project you'd like to participate into or get involved with, go ahead and talk to people.
Rule number 1: have fun!

: Hello all,
: Brace yourselves for some pretty naive
: questions.
:
: After a couple years of lurking around this
: site and others, I have finally decided to
: take the plunge and become more involved in
: the vore community. One thing I am unsure
: of, however, is how can I contribute
: meaningfully to the community?
:
: Suffice to say, I have no skill in the arts.
: I am neither a talented artist nor a
: creative writer, nor do I really have the
: time to cultivate these skills at the
: moment. What ways can I contribute other
: than as moral support for the people who do
: real work?
:
: Another point to note is my stance in the
: furry community. I frequent FA fairly
: regularly and Eka's on occasion, and it is
: clear that these places hold a wealth of
: artistic talent (and generally all-around
: nice people), but I myself am not yet
: involved with the furry community in any
: real way. How does one go about creating a
: fursona? Is this necessary if I want to
: contribute to these communities?
:
: Thanks,
: -Triode
