You could go with the stereotype and make a mouse, deer, or other prey critter. Maybe one that is shy and cautious or another who is clueless and walks into trouble.

The reverse option is to make a predator race character (wolf, lion, whatever) who is so inept that they become prey. Maybe they were so sheltered that they never learned to hunt, that sort of thing.

A third option is a character/species that wants to be a pred but is just unable to defend itself due to being weak or small. A midrange carnivore like a fox or raccoon, maybe.
