Hey Mary, Thank you for your warm sentiments. So are you, You are well appreciated. And lady you are not a coward. I commend you for what you had started and done. And trust me, I understand your fear. back then you could not pay me to do any kind of protesting, especially here in San Diego, so I commend you for taking that leap. The protest is no different today. Now everyone is advised to turn off phones and put phones on airplane mode, as well as what we should look out for. Scary huh? So I feel you. Its still crazy scary. When I first started protesting, I would be in the middle of everyone, Squeezed in like sardines, throwing my fist up. Now lady I walk on the outskirts of every protest, especially when I am downtown on the harbor. Watching for any one person looking suspect. Now the walk down there is long, but It’s nice because it’s not as hot as it is in my community. My community have the same protest at the same time, a couple a blocks away from my house. Thought about riding my bike up the way….its not the same as riding the trolly from La Jolla, and being free to ear mug people conversation. Lol. but let me be the first to say that in my community, protest so close to the streets, makes me paranoid. Tripping all on curves and stuff, trying to walk without stepping on the back of peoples heels. No thanks. I’ll just get up early, park at La Jolla Mall, and take the train downtown, with this protest coming up in October, I will be wearing my DARK shades on the train, looking straight ahead, and listening to Gus Fuss about their children, husband, wive’s, etc. pretending like I don’t hear them. Im not gonna lie, I be praying to my guardian angles to go and prepare a way for me and let everyone have favor with me in Jesus name so we all can do this together.
You know Mary the fight that I am in now, One can say Im in too deep. I gotta continue. Of course I prayed, Asked God to protect and Guide me through my every walk. considering being the first woman of color in my community, my city for that matter to challenge the Status Quo. All I can say without jinxing myself…..”is put me in the game coach….Im ready.”
Without saying, I have to give my dear friends Mayor Omar Bradley and Steven Windom (Steven if I spell your name wrong please forgive me k, you I know I love you man, lol) much credit in my decision making. Both allowed me to do my own research and put one foot in front of the other and move forward. I love you two to pieces.
I will come on at another time, without being inappropriate to Big Ten 75 Board and point you a direction as to where I will be. FEC has guidelines that I must follow…. As a women of color every step I make must be correct and in order.
Oh course Mary, I will share more later and keep you posted. And I WILL BE CAREFUL as to what I say. Girl you know my thinking process, I say what I believe, which is what got me in trouble on that X account. Lol. Man I made that mistake once to often and had to block every account on my phone. I will guarantee you, once things are set in stone, that same person….no name, will be trying to hack my account like last time. Don’t trip, Im in the process of hiring a person to handle that part of my affairs.
In short, I will videotape the next King Day protest, if possible try to post (if I know how, not that savvy on how to) on BigTen 75 as well on my Social Media.
