Our human rights and our civil rights have a long way to go in this country. You would think that we live in a third world country the way that our young black men are being targeted, profiled and gunned down these days. It use to be " driving while black" and now its "walking while black" (outrageous) . Injustice is just running rampant. Trayvon Martin was shot and killed walking back to his father's home in a gated community on February 26, 2012. Trayvon Martin had every right to be where he was at that point in time. But yet he was gunned down and killed by a racist wannabe cop; a neighborhood watch captain named George Zimmerman. Zimmerman made a 911 call and was told by the 911 operator not to follow Trayvon Martin; but of course that was not good enough for George Zimmerman; he wanted blood that night and he got it. Whats even more disturbing is that the police let him go home without even arresting him as if the life that he took had no meaning whatsoever (these racist Floridian white people and whites in general care more for a dog than they do for a black male human being who has been killed). Zimmerman was only arrested weeks later and charged because the parents of Trayvon Martin. political leaders and the community insisted on it. It is outrageous that despite the witness accounts the jury refused to call many of those who said that they saw George Zimmerman attacking Trayvon as well as many witnesses stated that it was a child or youngsters voice yelling out on the audio recordings. A lot of evidence was not used during the trial (good and bad).
Respect for each other has been thrown out the window.
Our country has always been divided when it comes to race ( we're all one big melting pot and hating each other gets us nowhere); but it appeared that we all were working to make it better and we were slowly seeing changes for the better; but unfortunately at this point in time it seems as if change has been somewhat reversed and it appears that "THERE IS STILL NO JUSTICE AND THERE IS STILL NO PEACE FOR BLACK PEOPLE". But we must continue to forge ahead and we must continue to teach our children and our grandchildrenn to respect all people inspite of the way that things are right now and continue to pray for change for our country and pray for change for the better for all of us.
UNFORTUNATELY, AS LONG AS WE LIVE WE MUST NEVER STOP
FIGHTING FOR OUR CIVIL & OUR HUMAN RIGHTS & DIGNITY!!
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!
R.I.P. TRAYVON MARTIN!!
GOD BLESS THE MARTIN FAMILY ALWAYS!!
