Just want to weigh in on the thread for the possible reunion weekend in Las Vegas. We certainly want to keep in mind those who are experiencing difficult times financially because none among us are immune to hardship whether it be financially, physically, or spiritually. It is our goal to accomplish the Vegas get together with as minimal finance as possible. We will target October 5-6, 2012 as to not interfere with the All Alumni picnic and party in Los Angeles to offer one of our own in Las Vegas. The major alumnus that will be affected are the ones who do not live in California. It definitely may not be feasible for them to attend both events even at a month apart. As for travel expenses, I've found it to be cheaper to fly into Las Vegas than it is to fly from some cities into Los Angeles. The only thing expensive about Las Vegas is the gambling Everything else is cheap. We were planning a Meet Up FREE party on Friday night. There's a sister radio station of The Wave in Los Angeles called The Oasis in Las Vegas. They have Friday night live with combination live entertainment and oldie rhythm and blues dancing that's no charge. We can do a Bar-B-Q the next day and use the computer as our FREE DJ. We will handle the hospitalities since you are the guests For those who miss the Friday night live there's another oldies free night at the Las Vegas Hilton on Saturday night. Rooms of course range from 19.99 double occupancy to sky's the limit. A charter bus can be reserved at reasonable rate if enough want to travel that way, or existing Vegas charter information can be obtained with pickup/drop-off times and location for that weekend. Spirit airlines has round trips from LA to Las Vegas for 39.00 round trip with luggage extra. An RSVP and about $12.00 should cover the cost of the Bar-B-Q. That's how we do it in Las Vegas! Very informal, low maintenance, and cheap It's not our intention to try and do this by circumventing the Committee that has kept this fellowship over the years. We do need some assistance from the reunion committee via your promotion. Wayne send me a note with your email address to ljrhodes@msn.com. I can send you my number or get it from Tony Benford so that we can discuss further.
