The two new Big Bear eaglets, hatched by Jackie and Shadow on April 4 and 5, 2026, do not have official names yet.
Local third-grade students are expected to select names based on community suggestions, a tradition maintained by Friends of Big Bear Valley. They are currently referred to as the 2026 chicks.
Last years' babies were Sunny and Gizmo.
