A package of raw sugar that was ground when the sugar mill Jim helped start in 1973 , turned 25 yrs old.
The mill and 48,000 acre crop lasted 53 yrs,the cane was plowed up and the mill is being dismantled. Mexico owes us water that they have not paid us and there is no water to support the crop anymore. Jim put 33 yrs into the mill, he was a mechanical supervisor. 500 families lost jobs when it closed, so much sadness.
