I was in high school. My cousin joined the Army and he came to my house and told me he was leaving. He wanted a kiss and I gave it to him. When he was fighting, he wrote to me. There came a day I couldn't read his letters any more. It was too graphic. He came home intact, but for nightmares and terrors...married and had three little girls, then made a miss-step and fell to his death in a uranium mine shaft. He was Wendell Stocks.
