My black cat would just sit down and look you straight in the eye until you got up and followed him to see what he wants - either food or he wants to go outside. Sometimes if you're busy he may have to meow to get your attention. Once when I was watching TV, he came into the room and sat down and looked at me. I got up and went to the kitchen to see if he needed food or to go outside. But he just vanished. Where did he go? So I went back to the TV room and there he was - curled up in my spot on the sofa. My favorite spot was also his favorite spot :-)
