Let's face it, oldsters in this country are unwanted. You get old, slow down and they're anxious to warehouse you. I see it in healthcare. They don't want to spend a lot of time or effort with the older crowd. But they will take every cent you have, even your house at the end of your life. Their attitude is "hurry up and die. Get out of the way so we can take all your stuff".

My FIL had a nice retirement nest egg he had saved up. He got Parkinsons and had to go into a home. They took every penny he had plus the house his father had built with his own hands. We wanted to pass that house onto a grand and keep it in the family. NO said the government. They got it and sold it. The government got every thing my FIL had and he died a pauper.
