My Bill was given many things to try to stop his RH. One was D-penicilliamine, they hooked him to a machine that 'took out the rh cells from his blood, and recycled it'...they gave him Prednizone. They actually shot gold into him. (It pocketed behind his knees to the size of a baseball.) Then they put him on Methotraxate, paired with Plaquenil. It didn't help and it gave him lung cancer. This was from 1976-2004. The medications gave him Diabetes that lost him his leg, put on 70 pounds and the Prednizone caused his bones to crumble.He took Ibuprophen for years, it began to eat out his stomach. Then they put him on the purple pill. Altogether, I figure likely the medicines caused as much hurt as they helped. At the end they gave him a running prescription of Oxycodone.
