The republicans have a razor thin majority in the house of representatives. All bills concerning money and financing must begin in the house. I'm sure that there will be at least two republicans voting with the democrats to prevent any drastic cuts, or elimination of, social security. The republicans have a very thin majority in the senate. Anything too crazy that Trump wants to start will hopefully not get past congress. I'm sure that the nation will be totally fed up (if they're not fed up already) with Trump's crazy policies by the mid-term elections in 2026, that the democrats will win comfortable majorities in both houses.
