The "Holy Family" is made up of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. It was Joseph and Mary who traveled to Bethlehem in accordance to a requirement from Rome for the national census. That was when the baby Jesus was born. Joseph was a carpenter and he was the legal father of Jesus at that time. It was Joseph and Mary who raised Jesus as a young boy.
