I was addicted to nicotine. I smoked about a pack of Marlboros for 30 years, and I had many, many failed attempts at quitting. I finally quit for good using the patch in 1998. A favorite quote of mine was from Mark Twain: "It's easy to quit smoking. I've done it dozens of times myself."
