Alfonso XIII's sister Maria Mercedes was styled as the Princess of Asturias both during their father's reign and that of her brother until she died. That was before Alfonso married End and had children of his own. So a sister of the King of Spain was styled with the Spanish version of the title of Crown Princess at the end of the 19th century and I'm not sure it's the only example.
Maybe so, but I have never before seen a brother of a Monarch being referred to as Crown Prince. (I'm not counting the Arab monarchies, which often have successional rules totally different from e.g. the European monarchies.)
not unlike the Spanish situation where the King's oldest daughter Leonor is HRH the Princess of Asturias even though a younger brother would replace her in the line of succession.
It's interesting that the Emperor's brother Akishino, who is Heir presumtive to the Japanese throne is called Crown Prince Akishino on the official site for the Imperial Family. In theory, if the Emperess dies, the Emperor could remarry and sire a son, who would be Heir apparent and thus Crown Prince.
