There are other branches of the dynasty but they are no longer considered part of the Imperial family since 1947. If princesses are going to remain in the Imperial family after marriage a wedding between a Princess and a male line descendant from one of the junior branches could provide acceptable heirs in case Hisahito remains without male offspring.
