HIH Prince Mikasa died today. He was born on 2 December 2015, and would have celebrated his 101st birthday five weeks from now. As late as five years ago, he and his spouse Yuriko could celebrath their 75th wedding anniversary.

Prince Mikasa's eldest brother was Emperor Showa (Hirohito). His three sons all predeceased him, but his two daughters are still alive.
