Emperor Akihito has held a speach that was broadcasted on TV and radio (which is very rare.) He said that he was afraid that he wouldn't be able to fullfil his duties like he has in the passed because of his age and condition. Abdication is not allowed in Japan. Does anyone here know more about the Emperor's condition and other issues regarding this?
