Plus it seems now that the United Arab Emirates are to scared to get involved in the fighting against IS but are prepared to fund Jordan's military intervention, so its a win, win situation for Jordan, they get to attack their enemies and someone else pays for it.
In the longer term, Jordan, like many Middle Eastern countries is sitting on a demographic timebomb, the majority of the population (being refugees) do not have civil rights in Jordan and many are being raised in extremist households, who view violence and extremism as the only option.
Political power remains predominantly held within the tribal system and neither they nor the monarchy wish to let go of any of it. At some point any pretense of a move towards democracy will fall away. I suspect Jordan will be an all out military autocracy within the next 10 years, most likely with the full approval of the United States and European Union.
The King and Queen have met the murdered pilot's family and paid tribute to him.
During a meeting, the father of the murdered pilot referred to the King as also being his dead son's father.
