First of all may I ask you,who you are.Let we also on internet maintain the normal way of writing,if I amy say so.So always begin with "Dear Mister/madam so and so.And then under wit things like"Yours sincerelly".
Don't be offended,that is just the style I like.
Okay;now to your question.I really don't know,because I just read it.I think the news is very fresh and no one(nearly)outside Indonesia knows it.
He tried the previous time,but then he was still not known enough.Before that time he was only a possible candidate.
My personal opinion is,that he has a big chance,because the Indonesian population tried all kind of persons and he is the pleasant alternative.Yes,that they also say about Obama in USA,but not all his idea's are very attractive to me.
I think we must follow,what will happen.I think,that the Sultan now feels very strong.I saw a film on Indonesian TV and the style of his candidature was more with triumph,than the previous time.He is now really candidate.
You also can describe him.He has a clear personality.Also his character as an Indonesian king(Javanaese king),of not let you make to emotional as much as possible is very attractive to many.
But after I spoke to one important person in Indonesia,I know,that the present president is still powerfull.
The candidature of the Sultan always had one negative aspect.As a clear Javanese king he wasn't really acceptable for the population outside Java.But I think,that he profilated himself the last years also in the other areas and all like him and know him.
It would be good,if he would be president.Not by promessing a lot of nice things,but just by introducing the good principles of Indonesian culture in the politics.

Let we just follow the news.When new things will happen,I shall put it on my site.I spoke with an Indonesian king,who also was invited to the meeting,where the sultan proclaimed himself as candidate for the presidential elections in 2009.
He will inform me in due time and that news I shall put on my site.

I know the sultan a bit from a distance and he tries to bring good ideas and principles in life.
I hope,that life gives this king a chance to serve his country on the highest level.
In Yogyakarta as a heriditary king and a person he is enormous popular.
Some years ago he wanted to quit as a sort of automatic designated governor of Yogyakarta special province(he wanted f.i. to concentrate on the national politics),but the local people didn't want to let him go as their governor(in fact as their king).
