Other children of Hidetada
Hidetadafs eldest son Nagamaru (or Chômaru) (born 25 January 1602 (Keichô 6.12.3); died 8 November 1602 (Keichô 7.9.25) is sometimes said to be the son of O-Eyo no Kata but the dates of birth of his sisters make this impossible and he was probably the son of an unnamed concubine.
Hidetada had a youngest son Masayuki (born 17 June 1611 (Keichô 16.5.7); died 4 February 1673 (Kambun 12.12.18)) by a woman called O-Shizu who was in the household of Hidetadafs former wet-nurse. Hidetada was terrrified of his wife O-Eyo no Kata and, fearing her reaction, as soon as he learned of the preganacy he sent O-Shizu away from Edo. The son was adopted by the Hoshina family and did not meet his father till after O-Eyo no Katafs death when he was 18. He later became the first Daimyo of Aizu.
