Bandar Seri Begawan - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pg Anak Hjh Saleha paid their last respects to the late Pengiran Anak Hajah Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam, younger sister of Her Majesty who passed away at the age of 51 yesterday morning.

Also present at Rumah Seri Alam were HRH Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, HRH Paduka Seri Pg Anak Isteri Pg Anak Sarah, HRH Prince Haji Sofia Bolkiah and other members of the royal family, RTB reported.

The late Pengiran Anak Hajah Damit was the wife of Pg Haji Mohd Ayub bin Pg Maharaja Anakanda Pg Haji Ahmad.

Meanwhile, by command of His Majesty, the national flags were flown four feet below the top of the flag staff at all government buildings and private sector premises throughout the country yesterday.

Royal Family Bereaved

Bandar Seri Begawan - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha, yesterday paid their last respects to Yang Mulia Pengiran Anak Hajah Damit who passed away in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Also paying their last respects were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah.

Allahyarham Pengiran Anak Hajah Damit, 51, was the younger sister of Her Majesty Raja Isteriand the wife of Pengiran Hj Ayub bin Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Maharaja Anakanda Pengiran Haji Ahmad, a prominent business man in the sultanate.

According to reliable sources close to the family, the Allahyarham Pengiran Anak Hajah Damit had been fighting a long battle with cancer. She succumbed at around two in the morning early Sunday morning
