The younger brother of King Tupou V has been formally designated as Heir Apparent and granted the title of Tupouto'a, effective 11th September 2006. He is now known as "HRH Prince Tupouto'a Lavaka". The title of Tupouto'a was previously held by Tupou V and Tupou IV while Crown Prince.

The second prince's junior titles have been conferred on his two sons, effective 26th September. The elder son is now known as "HRH Prince 'Ulukalala". The younger son as "HRH Prince 'Ata".

This information will be put on the Royal palace website, if not already done.
