I took it, I thought the class was not easy, not insanely impossible but not easy.
I took a lot of notes from the modules and drew out the TCA, ETC cycles on white board. A lot of science faculty these days are using publisher generated tests, which is fine but you need to understand that this gives them the ability to choose 50 questions from a huge list, plus I find publisher made questions try to trip you up and force you to understand the underlying "why" of something. This is why I drew out the pathways.
I HIGHLY recommend not taking exam 2 until you are extremely ready. Why? because you can only retake exam 2 or 4 once, if you do poorly on exam 2 it puts you in a really bad place for exam 4.
Side note- Because the faculty don't make the tests its harder to rely on the modules to do well. Imagine you are teaching me a class on biology, you decide what to discuss and tell me what chapters to read. But then someone else makes the test, this means whatever you discussed in class may not be what the test is focused on. I know people like to spit out platitudes like "you should understand everything in the book" but the truth is students hate it when teachers teach one thing but then the questions are not mainly related to the lectures. Its misleading. Sorry for the rant. Overall its a good course at a fair price that gets you through Biochem.
