Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and in my senior year of college and will be graduating this Fall with Honors with a B.S. in Biology. I have read most of the recent "chances" post on this forum and would like to get more of a perspective on my stats and achievements. If anyone could tell me my chances of getting in that would be great. However, I won't be giving my specific stats, such as my exact GPA, for personal reason. I will be giving roundabout numbers. My top schools are Emory, Nova, CWRU, and Wisconsin. Thank you in advance for responding!
CGPA: 3.70+ SGPA: 3.70+ MCAT: 502+
Great personal statement and life experiences. I have over a 1000 hours of research experiences in a neuroscience lab. Will have an undergraduate Senior Honors Thesis finished in August on my research and published by my University. Have 150 hours of volunteering at a Hospital. 10 hours volunteering at an Alzheimer's Care Center. Completed a CNA course (290 hours with direct-patient contact in the program but not licensed due to finishing my bachelor's degree). Will have 30+ shadowing hours after this semester and before application cycle opens in June. 8 hours of community volunteering (performed gardening work for a low-income community). 20 hours volunteering at Animal Care and Control.
Thank you for all the positive responses and honest answers. In regards to the shadowing hours mentioned in my original post, I was mainly referring to anesthesia and surgical shadowing which will definitely be on my application before sending it out. Thank you!
Looks pretty solid to me. I applied with a 3.5 GPA, a good GRE score, and had a lot of anesthesia shadowing and strong work history and got accepted to every program I applied to. I would add some more anesthesia specific shadowing.
Interview skills go a long way and they put a lot of weight on your interview. They like to see your a good fit for their program. I think your a shoe in for an interview, though.
Hi, I think you have a great resume.Your MCAT score and GPA are outstanding. If you can add on somet more Anesthesia related things like research in this field or working as Anesthesia tech. You will definitely advance your chances of acceptance. Also, apply to all of your top schools. You will do great. Good luck.
I am applying for 2019 so I can only suggest calling some programs up. Most have posted stats. Ballpark guess, your background looks great, but I can only guess based on mine and the above mentioned stats.
