Environmental sciences (public health) degree from UGA with a 3.2 overall undergrad GPA. I have taken all of the "preferred but not required courses" at each school. I'm retaking 2 classes next semester that I got C- in. GRE scores: 153 verbal, 157 math 1 year experience as a pharmacy technician and about to start an internship in environmental health. I'm applying to NOVA, south, and Wisconsin. What are my chances of even getting an interview?
Hi! Are you applying this cycle (before you finish your repeated courses)? Have you also looked into emory at all? I think with the stats you have, you would get interviews to those schools, as long as you have a great personal statement explaining why the AA profession is for you and have good evaluations vouching for your character and work ethic.
Yes I am applying this cycle, I called and was told that as long as the C- courses are retaken before matriculation, I was fine. I plan on submitting my application at the end of December. The deadline for Emory has already passed.
Hi, I am a future applicant and while I can't speak as an AA or AA student, I can say I have spoken with three schools with similar questions. I was told that the higher the GPA and GRE the better (obvious) and the matriculated stats are easy to find. 3.45 is average accepted GPA. Your healthcare work and shadowing really allow you to stand out. Did you take all the required courses?
Yes I have completed all required courses. Two of them I received a C- in but I am retaking them next semester and was told that as long as they are complete by matriculation it wouldn't be an issue.
