Anesthesiologist Assistant jobs

not sure if anybody on the board know this or not but a hospital in Houston Texas is replacing 100 AA with CRNA. They need help fighting. This is just the beginning for all AA's

What hospital in Texas? Replacing 100 anesthetists seems drastic...

USAP decide to use only CRNA , MEMORIAL HERMANN HOSPITALS making them do it. AA's all over U.S need to step up and help them. If it can happen there it can happen anywhere.

My daughter and 99 other AA's no reason given. There are AA's That have been there over 12 years

Wow, that is crazy. It seems unusual to terminate employment without a given risen. not to mention, that a group had 100 CRNAs lined up ready to take these jobs over. Nonetheless, I hope everything works out and that something is done.

They have to train the CRNA will be replace a little at a time. They have until Dec 2017 to find another job.If u hear of one in Texas please let me know. Thanks for responding.

Why do they have until Dec 2017 to find another job? Will they lose certification if they don't find one by then?

No they will not lose certification, will not have a job at MEMORIAL HERMANN.. the hospital is hoping to replace all of them by Dec 2017. When they hire a CRNA they will layoff an AA.

Isn't Memorial Hermann the primary clinical site for Case Houston? If the hospital is no longer allowing AA practice, I doubt they would continue to allow AA student clinicals at the facilities..
