I am in the process of applying to Nova's AA Program, and I have a few questions regarding the program if anyone can help me out!
First, I am planning to take the GRE August 18th. I know that Nova has rolling admissions, so I am hoping that this will not significantly hinder my chances of acceptance. Do you foresee a problem? I have a 4.0 GPA and am nearly finished with the pre-requisite requirements, so how well do you think I need to do on the GRE?
Next, I am interested in your personal experiences with the program. How are the clinicals, and how grueling is the coursework? Do you feel that Tampa prepares you well for life as an AA?
Lastly, if there is anything additionally that you can tell me about your experiences as an AA/applicant, I would sincerely appreciate it.
I cannot speak on the coursework because I start in may. I did hear from the class before me that if you do not have any medical background that it is very tedious. As far as GRE you want something above 310 to be considered. Now, is that concrete? No because they look at the whole applicant not just the GRE but it does make you more competitve. I personally did not have over a 310 but I did have years of experience with direct patient contact in the unit and a similar job description as an AA.
Now as an applicant, because I did not have a 310 my process was grueling. It was nonstop worrying about getting the interview. Your main focus should be getting an interview. Call your admissions officer and become best friends and ask this specific question,"what can I do to make my application strong enough to warrant an invite for an interview"? I had to rewrite my essay, get another LOR, retake a prereq, and finally they invited me for interview. But it's because I would not take no for an answer. Be tenacious, never give up. Now if you have over a 310, a 4.0, and have experience well then the invite should just roll in lol.

Hi Jessie. I sadly cannot speak to many of your questions, as I won't be starting AA school until August. I did want to ask one question: why wait to take the GRE until August? I registered for the GRE 10 days before I sat to take it, and the testing facilities seem to have 3 or 4 GRE days per week.
I scheduled the GRE in August because I have classes/labs 4-7 hours a day every day of the summer and consequently cannot fit the GRE into my schedule.
