Has anyone heard anything back from the Medical College of Wisconsin?

I received an interview invite last Tuesday for a March 3rd interview. I was in a group of 5 yesterday, and the program director indicated that they were anticpating interviewing roughly 25 people for 10-16 spots in the first class. One of the 5 was originally invited to be part of the second interview group on March 31st, but a spot opened up for the March 3rd group.

Congrats on getting an interview! This is the first time I've heard from them interviewing candidates.

Do you mind sharing with us about this interview experience?

What do you think of the program now that you've visited the campus and heard more about the program?

Thank you. I think the reason the interviews are taking place so late in the typical admissions calendar has everything to do with the relatively late announcement that the program will open this summer. During the opening remarks, one of the people from the admissions department mentioned their class of 2019 applications will open in May along with all the other programs (and close in February of 2017 if I remember correctly).

This was my first interview experience for any sort of master's program, so I don't have anything to compare it to. Each applicant took part in 2 separate 30 minute interview sessions with a panel of 3 or 4 panelists. My experience seems to be consistent to practicing AA's recollection of their interviews at other programs. Be yourself and calm and you'll be fine. A few hypotheticals and questions regarding my experiences in my job or clinical settings.

MCW has quite a few resources at its disposal since it is tightly partnered with two hospitals on campus (Froedert and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin). I was impressed, but, again, I don't have anything to compare it to.

I have an interview with this school in January 2017. I'm stressing out and trying to prepare in advance. Any tips you could suggest would be great.

Also were you accepted into the program? If so, how is it?

I submitted my application in January after I met with a program representative. I had no idea AA was a profession, let alone one that I could pursue until last November when the program was announced. However, my grades from my undergraduate institution were not verified until February 13th (I ended up sending the transcript to CASAA twice).

I was very surprised to receive such an early interview slot.

It's a new program. I'm not sure when the app started but it's listed at CASAA. Check it out.

The program wasn't officially announced as commencing in 2016 until late November of 2015.
