Clinicals at Nova-Tampa and South

Is anyone currently enrolled or have firsthand knowledge of clinical options for South University or Nova-Tampa? Do these programs require clinical hours outside of the local area?

I can tell you for Nova-Tampa that your senior year is typically spent rotating at sites which are outside of the local area. You may have some in the area, but its almost impossible to do the entire year locally.

Thanks for the response Steve. I'm trying to get an idea of what kind of impact clinical rotations will have on my family at different programs. So far Colorado seems to be the only program that doesn't require a ton of travel time.

It's a tough go regardless. Several people in my class had families and made it work the best they could. Its tough being on the road but its also useful seeing how diverse the practice of anesthesia is by going to different locations. Good luck in your search and decision!

I'm definitely not under the misconception that any of these programs will be easy, but a year or more of multiple out of state rotations could be pretty tough. I'm assuming that students are on their own to secure housing at clinical sites?

At most sites, you are on your own.
