Nova Interviews 2015

Usually September or October but it can be much later too!

Hey, I noticed this was your second time applying? Do you know what might have hindered you last application? What are your stats this cycle compared to last cycle?

Not sure, perhaps I didn't interview well, or grades/experiences just weren't competitive enough...who knows. They always interview more than they can accept of course.

Since then, I have taken on a job as an anesthesia tech/OR attendant at a local hospital. Now I get to see AA's and their patients every day and that has, in part, motivated me to try again.

Hey jstx. I actually interviewed at ft Lauderdale and I feel my interview went pretty bad. No call back yet it's been since sep 24. I was wondering if I apply again next year and since my interview was the only flaw in my application, if I would even get an interview invite next time around. What do you think? thanks.

As the other guy said, don't count yourself out yet. There's always the wait list or late acceptance. I think Nova looks positively at reapplicants, so if you really want it, try again and communicate that clearly.

What are your grades, GRE scores this cycle? How was the interview like last year? What do you plan on doing to prepare for the interview this year?

Got into Tampa. I think working in a hospital since last year's cycle has helped me a lot, not my grades.

Congrats. I will be sending my deposit for Tampa. I applied to Ft Lauderdale at the same time, but they made errors on my app and now I can't interview there until November or so.

What do you mean by that? Did they already rejected you by telling you directly? You may think you bombed but until they actually say you were flat out rejected, you will just be rolled to the next wave of applicants and maybe even be accepted next year in February or March for this cycle. If you reapply for next years cycle they will give you an interview but I would make sure to practice for next time so you don't bomb it.

Hey. No I haven't officially been rejected. I feel that I did terrible. I mean it pretty much went as badly as it could have. I was so nervous that I practically froze up. When they asked me the questions I tried to answer them but I was so nervous I would miss the scope of the question. They had to basically re ask the questions. I had absolutely no confidence going in. Im pretty disappointed as I was fine the whole day and even after the interview, spoke with the interviewers as they gave us a tour of the school and everything. Just when I was face to face with the interviewers I don't know I just blanked out. Just hoping that I would still be considered for an interview next cycle even though my credentials, although good, will most likely be the same. I plan to work on my interviewing skills the whole time off. Thanks.

Just found out I was waitlisted. Not sure exactly how this works. Am I at a set position on the list or am I constantly being evaluated against other interviewee's as they keep sending out invites. At least it is early. May is a long time to wait to find out. Here's to keeping hope alive.

First time applying this year. Only both Novas. Waitlisted at ft. Laud. Accepted and will be attending Tampa.

Last year, I interviewed at Emory and Nova. This year I only reapplied to Nova.

I agree with dzone. Don't limit yourself, and the experience of any interview you might get if invaluable. It wasn't until my 4th and 5th interviews that things started going smoothly. I think I applied to 5 programs my first year and 16 PA/AA programs last year. The first year I only had 1 interview, and last year I had 6 scheduled. Once I got into 2 places, I ended up cancelling the last two, but I just think that extra interview experience really started to pay off. You start relaxing and gain a lot of confidence. Yes it was a gamble only re-applying to Nova, but I did get in this time and I'm satisfied. I've paid my deposit for Tampa, though I would still like to hear from Ft. Lauderdale..

You should definitely consider applying to other programs to increase your chances of getting in. That's just my opinion.
