Good Morning, I know this question is going to seem vague since it will vary greatly with location, but I am having a great deal of trouble finding the average starting salary for an AA, right out of school. I am really considering applying to an AA school in this upcoming cycle and want as much information as possible. I have read that it varies between 120-160k, but I cannot find anything recent or looking at a specific location. So, is anyone willing to quote anything they have heard directly from a hospital or perhaps what they know a recent (or new graduate) to make? I know it seems very materialistic to ask, but I am leaving a field with fairly good salary and benefits, and I want to make sure that I can justify the massive loans I will have after. Thanks again!

Atlanta area seems to pay the least, the lowest I've heard is 105k and up to 135k. One place I saw offers 90k but I don't think they'll ever fill it at that salary. I've heard of up to 170k in other states/cities but I can't verify that.
For what it's worth, most students get jobs at the places they rotate during school, people they know, etc. The number of job openings on gaswork is not representative of the opportunities for new graduates.

Follow some listings on gaswork over a few months and you will see what some current jobs pay. It is a huge range depending on the specific location.

That site scares the crap out of me. I'm really assuming that there are a lot more job opportunities out there and that they just aren't picked up by the site. Can anyone comment on this? Seems like there are a million postings for anesthesiologists and CRNAs but never more than 0-10 when I've randomly checked.

There are a lot more jobs out there, but I know several who have gotten jobs through gaswork and that the salary ranges are accurate for given areas.

You will get a job by networking or through your various clinical rotations in school. Our field truly has 100% job placement and I've never known anyone who got a job through gaswork if that tells you anything.

I agree... that is very good to hear. I, as well, have been very worried about placement.
Thanks for your information!

That's great to hear! Thanks! I figured that was the case but was confused because people always reference that as a site to check.
