Any advice on how go master the verbal portion of the GRE. Tips and tricks anyone?

How much time do you have until you take the exam? If you have a little bit of time, what I did was I tutored a bunch of high school kids in the various subjects of the test. That way I was studying and making money at the same time! However if you dont have that much time left (applying for this cycle) some tricks are : close reading, underlining and mouthing sentences to try and hear the sentences in your head for sentence completeness, accuracy and fluency. Generally if it sounds right when you say the sentence you picked the correct word choice, subject, whatever.

i think you will find more GRE advice somewhere other than this board. this board doesn't have very many members and almost no activity.

I agree with AAgirl, but I will say The Princeton Review book did me well (not a fan of Kaplan).
