The question that I have is: Does the anesthesiology department provide Teaching Assistantship or Graduate Research Assistantship to prospective students? I am an international student and intend to apply for this program. Also, is there any other sort of assistantship which is provided? On the official website for financial aid I got an idea about types of Financial Aid and one of those was part time work. However it did not mention anything about TA and Graduate Research Assistantship. Somewhere on the website they said TAs and GRAs depend on the specific departments. I would appreciate if someone could guide me on this question. Thank you.

Some programs do specifically prohibit working. Others only tell you it isn't recommended, though I know of people who do or who have, though certainly not on a regular basis. I am not aware of any teaching assistantships by any of the programs. Emory offers some small loans based on qualifications, though the majority of aid taken out by students is in Stafford and PLUS loans.

No. You are not allowed to work while in AA school. The didactic and clinicals take up all of your time. Most AA students take out grad plus loans to cover the cost of living while in the program.
