Job Placement

Just curious... can any new graduates of ANY of the programs or veterans in the field recall if they have heard of anyone getting a job in a place that they did NOT rotate through during their second year? I'm wondering if it is at all possible to get a job in a city out of state from my program if I do all rotations in-state...

I can tell you its possible but not very likely unless you have some other kind of connection. I interviewed at some places that were outside of my rotations, but they stated that they were very reluctant to hire anyone that they have not seen perform in the OR with their own eyes regardless of your evaluations. Would that still be true after several years of experience or primarily for new graduates?
