Hey everyone... As this board seems a little depressed and doldrumy, I figured maybe we can start discussing the new application cycle. Curious where everyone is applying, stats, background etc. I'm applying to Case (all three schools)and Emory. Career change for me. I have a bachelors and masters in Arts in religious law, (4.0,3.93 respectively), and a 3.98 in the prereqs at Towson. Just got my MCAT back to today (27R)So I hope that will suffice. I'm also trying to get a a job as an anesthesia tech for this coming year... Personally I'm married with 3 kids and really excited about this new career move! Anyone else willing to share? Good luck to all of you!
I am 23 and applying now as well. I will be sending applications to all of the schools July 15th. I think my top choice will be Case Western in DC. I'm open to any of the schools really, although, I would prefer to move out of Florida.
Stats wise I have a 4.0 Science GPA from a large state University and 26O MCAT.I was originally headed for medical school so I have lots of the generic volunteering hours at hospital for 4 years and about 200 other hours of miscellaneous volunteering with the fraternity I was in. Shadowing wise I've spent a few days with an anesthesiologist. The strong part of my application comes with my research experiences which I've been lucky to work for some well known/famous PIs. I will likely publish first author in a high impact journal sometime early next year.
I am really excited for AA schools and the career afterward! I've always loved dealing with patients and being in health care. Hopefully, this year will treat us all well with acceptances!
Hobby wise I love rock climbing! I don't have any kids, but my cat will suffice for now.(I'm not a weird cat kid though I swear). I like playing flag football and basketball as well.
Anyone else care to share?
I'm looking forward to meeting other people applying.
Hi everyone, I think I'll start applying towards the beginning of the year. Perhaps in January. I'm 25 with a Bachelors in Biology and a Bachelors in Medical Technology with GPA of 3.7 and 3.9 Respectivley. I haven't taken the GRE or MCAT yet, but I think I'll take the GRE in November and the MCAT not long after.
I enjoy working as a Medical Technologist, but I look forward to having a career with a greater, more direct impact on patients, that's also challenging and thought provoking. I think AA will be a good career that I would enjoy. Good luck to everyone applying.
