Receiving multiple e-mails from Emory?

My application to Emory has been complete for a while, and when it was initially confirmed to be complete, I received an e-mail stating so. However, a few minutes ago, I received the exact same e-mail again. I almost had a heart attack earlier when I saw that I had received an e-mail with "AA Program" in the subject line, LOL. Probably wishful thinking on my part, but are these repeat e-mails often followed up with interview invite e-mails? I'm just wondering if they might have meant to send an interview invite instead, but accidentally re-sent the "application complete" e-mail.

Got the same thing in my email today. Fortunately I had read your post first so I didn't get as excited about seeing an email from Emory.

Hmmm, I wonder if it could mean that those who received the e-mail are already guaranteed to receive an interview, or vice versa? LOL. It's probably just a glitch, but why did the e-mail get sent to some applicants and not others?

I guess it's just like the old proverb spoken by Confucius: "AA program nervousness bodes conspiracy theories."

I got it today as well. Really not counting on hearing anything from them until next year though.

I just checked and that was the same day I received that e-mail. I had received another e-mail from them on the 19th so I got excited/nervous also!

Has anyone gotten anymore emails from Emory?? I know they have been shut down for break, but just curious if there were any "generic" emails going out.

I haven't gotten anymore computer generated emails stating my app is complete from Emory (i've received about 3 or 4 of the exact email). I've been checking everyday for an email about an official interview date. I'm hoping to know something by Friday! Anyone else in the same boat??

I was thinking Friday was the day too. Last year all the emails went out on a Friday afternoon after the holidays.

We shall see.

Well if I don't have an email Friday I guess that's a bad sign.
I sure hope there is not a strict cutoff!! My GRE scores suck, but the rest of my app is great. I was told they look at the " whole package" .
What did the Assistant Program director say??

Oh, I just asked her if she had a particular document on file for my application. I was kind of in a hurry so I didn't ask anything regarding when interview invites would be e-mailed out. I also didn't want to hear, "Actually, your application has already been rejected!" LOL.

I hope they don't have any strict cut-offs either because I have a few bad science course grades. Just out of curiosity, how bad were your GRE scores?

I'm also waiting to hear from Emory; I called the program office earlier today to make sure they had a particular component of my application, and the assistant program director was the individual who answered the phone. I figured that was an indication that they were probably in the process of reviewing applications (because usually, the admin. assistant answers the phone).

I'm also curious about whether they send rejection emails or just interview offers. Also, just out of curiosity, does anyone know if Emory uses strict cut-offs for GPA/GRE scores like South does?

Last year, only those who received interviews got an email, people who were rejected found out via snail mail.
