Actually, I doubt it would sound that stupid at all, considering that at my public university in the southeast, today and yesterday were "normal" school days with full classes and hours for all departments (including admissions). If Emory was, in fact, open today and yesterday and had normal hours, then I don't see how it's unrealistic at all to consider that they might have held one last application review session (or whatever they're called) on Tuesday before leaving for Thanksgiving break. |
Like I said, it's just foolish hopefulness on my part; I know of several people who are applying with "all-star" stats (high GPA, high GRE, medical experience), so I doubt I'll have to worry about hearing back from Emory at all except in the form of a rejection letter in a month or so. South told me point-blank without even having to apply that they'd reject my application on the basis of my GRE score (I believe another person experienced this as well), so it seems like it would practically take a divine act for Emory to not do the same. Of course, this is assuming that both South and Emory have the same GRE cut-off requirement.
