Absolutely! During your AA education you will rotate through many specialties like OB, CT, Pediatrics, Trauma, ER, General, Neuro....U can use this to pick and choose what kind of anesthesia you want to do. I know many AAs that only do hearts or transplants. Yes you can specialize as an AA. Your CMEs will help focus your direction in anesthesia, but so will your education and elective rotations.
