You know what? Some of us who are applying to school, or already in school are from states where there are no laws to license AAs. We knowingly are going into the profession with the mindset and knowledge that we might not (in the immediate future or perhaps ever) get to move back to our home towns. Someday, yeah, probably the laws will pass and the states will open up. But until then, we will have good paying, secure employment that we enjoy doing in other great parts of the country. There are other good places to practice anesthesia, other than Columbus. Hell, whats the worst thing that could happen, you have to settle up in ATL for a few years (100 miles away) until something opens up in Columbus? If you want to go back there so bad, and aren't willing to make compromises, you should probably do another specialty. How do you think its going to be for me when I move my family 3000 miles to go to school? To work? Its hard, but you nut up and do what you gotta do.
