Intrest in becoming an AA, lots of questions Archived Message

I am 26, about to get my Bachelor's of Science in Biology. I have roughly 2.5 GPA overall, but my Science scores are all A's and B's. I have been undecided for a long time, but I've recently become interested in anesthesiology. I think it is something I would enjoy and would be good at. I still have a couple prereqs I would have to complete before trying to get in, and frankly the MCAT scares me as I am not the best test taker. But before I buckle down and attempt to get in, do I even have a chance?
I can have all the prereqs done by August 2010, and I know I can mark "in progress" on the classes I will finish by the start of the program... I'm just curious is it already too late to apply for the 2010 June/August AA programs, just the ones that the deadline has not already passed?
I am also worried about the outlook of the job, is it possible that they certification/degree will be eliminated in the near future? I noticed that Utah recently rejected accepting AAs, Is it likely that more states will start recognizing it, or is it more likely that the states that currently accept it are going to stay the same? Do AA's get passed over in favor of CRNA's for jobs? Is it smarter to just go the CRNA route to be safe, even though it will take so much longer, and be more expensive to do practically the same job? Is it at all possible as an AA to get certified for a CRNA if you don't get a CRNA degree? Do AAs have any trouble finding jobs right now? Thanks for any info!
