Not to mention the $50-100K+ in student loans you will acquire while getting through AA school...Unless you come from money so tuition/housing isn't an issue...
Thats alot of coin in loans to do a PRN job. You could just go do Med school, do an anesthesia residency, as well as an EMed residency; then you'd have the best of both worlds!
If what you are totally stoked about is just the sedation/intubation part of anesthesia, then maybe being a PA is the way to go...they do all that stuff in the ER.
But Id definitely shadow an AA or an MDA before making a decision. Sometimes, quite frankly, anesthesia can be "boring." Those straight forward B&B cases are like clockwork...lots of time sitting down and charting. But I say definitely do some shadowing and it will help you go the route best for you. Good Luck!
