Im a current student and I have issues with financial aid. They are pretty hard to get a hold of at every school. I always had issues at my undergrad too. As youve heard from other posts, just fill out the FAFSA and Nova will get you set up with federal loans to cover school expenses. As for extra living money, like for food and toilet paper, you will need to get a private loan. I recommend the Grad Plus loan through Sallie Mae. I would ask for about $25,000. You get is dispersed throughout the 3 semesters, about $8000 each semester (FYI: they take fees out of your requested amount).
As for living arrangements, if you want to be really close to Nova and in a decent apartment WITH a washer/dryer in the unit, then I would check out Palm Trace Landings. I live here now. They cost a little more than some places, but they are pretty new inside, really close to school and, as I mentioned, they have W/D, no laundry rooms and quarters! For people not from South Florida, you might have to get used to the price shock and what you actually get for it.
