    Dustin- Some hospitals require you to go through the "volunteer" orientation to understand HIPPA, and the generals of what to and not to do. Most to all physicians I have met are open to shadowing, depending on their specialty. Anesthesiologists are usually very open and will allow it. I have never asked an AA directly, but I have followed an MD who has occasionally left me with an AA and they have been totally cool. The AA, if asked, may have to ask his supervisor, an anesthesiologist, for permission.

    I would just call the hospital and ask for the chief of anesthesiology and ask what their procedure for this type of thing is.
