If you get bored with anesthesia you are no better off as a CRNA than as an AA. Why would you think that? If you wanted to go back to ICU nurse, you could do that as an AA also after 1 year accelerated BSN. This would be FASTER than switching from CRNA because being a CRNA would mean you already spent 2+ extra years so you would still be "ahead" at least a year as an AA to ICU nurse compared to CRNA to ICU nurse. Of course I don't know why you would want to do that after doing anesthesia. Let's say you wanted to be an NP instead. As a CRNA you would have to do NP school which is like 2 years. As an AA you could do PA school which is also 2 years MINUS the 2+ years you "saved" becoming an AA instead of CRNA. So the total time spent is still less having chosen AA first.
