Well this is along rant and I guess must be answered point by point 1. The AANA is not trying to "shut down" any current AA programs. 2. Fair has nothing to do with life, so get over it. The ASA is using the AA as a weapon so no the AANA is not going to roll over. Is it fair the ASA issuing the AA as a weapon? 3. See answer 2. Please tell me the CRNA's who had difficulty renewing their license in ohio> If you do not have them then it is heresy at best or a made up "fact" that you seem to toss out so casually. Why can't you work in all 50 states? Because with fewer then 1000 AA's practicing nationwide it is hard to judge the relative safety. Perhaps you should ask the ASA where was the support for the last 30 years? I tell you where, where it could make them money and until recently that was not the AA. If you really want the AA to advance as a profession then start thinking of yourselves as more then a subset of the ASA. You as an organization MUST control your scope of practice or you will remain the disposable bum boys of the ASA. Fair well if I go to Europe I sure as hell cannot work as an anesthetist because they get to decide who can just as the states do. As for immature childish posts take a long look in the mirror. Your posts seem to always bring up the issue between AA's and CRNA's. No one else's.
