The anesthesiologist will conentrate more on "periopoerative medicine", in addition they will specialize in another field such as critical care, regional, or chronic pain managment> at least that is the ASA's vision. It wont be 4X the salary more like 200% 50% of each case for medicare. For private insurance it could be 400%.
