    With the rest of your credentials (assuming you had at least a B in all the pre-reqs) I would say a 23 isn't something that is going to hold you back. I got a 26 and had a 3.2 GPA and got in--but it seems like you have had more experience than I did. Even though they say it "doesnt matter" if you have had experience or not in the medical field, I believe it is helpful. Nova definitely looks highly upon experience. Your many hours of shadowing (with out it being job associated) also shows that you're dedicated to finding out more about our profession which is great! If you would feel more comfortable with your application by taking the GRE, then go for it, but I wouldn't say you need it.
