thats how im doing it. i am in my senior yr of college (2nd yr of RT school in a BS program). our curriculum and training gives us a great preparation for anesthesia and critical care. im actually looking forward to doing my internship at a childrens hospital that utilizes RCPs in the OR under the dept of anesthesiology. im sure this will give me a better understanding of how the anesthesiologist and CRNAs work. (the hospital does not use AAs.....yet)
while CRNA is a great move for RNs, i think that similary being an AA is a great move for RCPs looking to move up and use more of their skills. (thats one more thing, we learn a lot of things in school that we dont get to actually do in many hospitals)
