    Thanks for your advice.

I'm still in college, but what I would like to do is, if I go to AA school (will do either that or dental school -- maybe medical school), start out after AA school graduation by doing locum tenens work (instead of taking a full-time job).

What I would like to be able to do is begin with locums jobs around where I live, and just live with my parents while I'm doing that (if they don't mind!). That way, I wouldn't have to worry about the lodging, rental car, per diem, etc. Then again, if I am able to write all this stuff off when it comes to taxes, does it even make any sense to not accept the per diem, lodging, rental car, etc.?

If my parents did let me move back in with them to take a locums job, I would really be able to save some money, especially if I was earnings the 8-hour pay AND pocketing the per diem, lodging and car fees.

I'm curious about this kind of thing, because I want to save money when I'm young and do a bit of investing, etc.

Does this sound like a feasible idea to you (living with your parents and working locums, while pocketing the per diem/lodging/car allowance)? Would I still be able to write-off these expenses from my taxes?

    Thanks...
